If you are a resident or business owner, or are considering a move to Maplewood, the Community Development Department can help you. Here are some of the services we offer:
- Business assistance including setting up a business, locating and developing real estate for business, addressing on-going business needs and public relations.
- Residential Housing assistance including identifying resources for home repair and other housing matters.
- Keeping you informed about Maplewood through The Maple Leaf Newsletter, a bi-monthly newsletter, and the City of Maplewood Website.
- Managing the Design & Review Board. Which includes helping residents and business owners get their applications for Design & Review Board ready and working to ensure the review process goes smoothly. We work directly with the building inspector to help expedite the issuance of a building permit.
Managing the Downtown Maplewood Special Business District. We are working with the Public Works department on enhancing the downtown Maplewood area with signage and other improvements.
- Planning and organizing key City events including Let Them Eat Art, Maplewood's Bastille Day event; and Women Making History, Maplewood's Women's History month event celebrating the over 125 women business owners and managers in Maplewood.
- Planning and organizing the Maplewood Community Fair with the Maplewood Community Fair Committee.

Design & Review Board Design & Reveiw Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Please note: Design & Review Board agenda submissions are due 10 days prior to the meeting date (typically the last or first Monday of the month) you must meet this deadline to be placed on the agenda.
