to the east, Webster Groves
to the south, Brentwood

Historically, Maplewood developed in phases starting from the mid-1800's and running through to the 21st century. The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is intertwined in Maplewood's rich architectural history boasting a high school building designed by the famous architect, William Ittner.
