Empire Supply
William Loomstein made the journey to the United States after serving as a Russian Czar Guard.  He started a business and began living the American Dream, then the Great Depression hit.  Empire Supply Co. opened within a month of the Empire State Building and even though it has changed its look and its stock, it is still family-owned and operated.  Today, you will visit Empire Supply for doors, windows and glass and the man who helps you is Don Loomstein, grandson of William, and his wife, Gwen.

Above photograph of Empire Supply Co. circa 1940's. The facade got a 1960's update that is still there.

Below, the prototype for the plaque has been laid directly in front of the building at 7286 Manchester.
