About Your City Manager
Marty Corcoran
Maplewood is Marty Corcoran's hometown. His career spans five decades with deep roots in public service, ranging from teaching in the Berkeley and Ritneour School Districts to Parks and Recreation Director and City Administrator of Bridgeton to a 25-year tenure as City Manager of the City of Maplewood.

During Mr. Corcoran's tenure as City Manager of the City of Maplewood, stability and respectability returned to local government, providing a sound fiscal basis for municipal operations.

Mr. Corcoran was instrumental, along with the staff and elected officials, in major redevelopment projects including the 62-acre Sunnen Business Industrial Park; Maplewood Square, housing one of the area's most popular grocery stores, Shop N Save; Maplewood Commons that boasts Walmart, Sams Club and Lowe's; and The Schlafly Bottleworks Brewery and Restaurant.

Mr. Corcoran has served as President of the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees, Past President of the St. Louis Area City Management Association, Past President of the Missouri City Managers Association, Past President of the Missouri Tax Increment Financing Association and has been in the forefront when it comes to consolidating and sharing municipal services. Mr. Corcoran is very active in Boy Scouts, where he has served as Cubmaster of Pack 362, Scoutmaster of Troop 362, Pathfinder District Commissioner and has been awarded the District Award of Merit, the Vigil Honor and the Silver Beaver.
Mr. Corcoran, and his wife Patricia reside in Maplewood.

2008 East West Gateway Council of Governments Gateway Lifetime Public Service Award Winner
Mr. Corcoran was presented an award for the 2008 East West Gateway Council of Governments Gateway Lifetime Public Service where over 600 people attended to honor him and other recipients of this accomplishment. Awards were presented by County Executive Charlie Dooley, Chair of the Council.
