Meet our New CouncilMember

Why did you run for office?
I ran in hopes of serving a community I love and representing my neighbors' needs and hopes for Maplewood.

Please tell us about your professional background and current employment.
My entire career has been spent in the nonprofit world.  I have had the good fortune of working for the American Cancer Society, MS Society, and Arthritis Foundation.  I am currently the Executive Director of the Mid-America Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.

Tell us how long you have lived in Maplewood and about your family.
I've lived in Maplewood since 2014 with my wife, Emily; son, Andrew; and Tibetan Terrier, Daisy. We have deep roots in the community, my grandmother grew up on Florent in the late 1920s and 1930s, and my mother lived in Richmond Heights and remembers walking up the hill from her home on Glades to the elementary school.

What do you like most about Maplewood?
We love the overall feel of the community...  always bumping into friends and neighbors around town, and frequenting small, locally owned businesses and restaurants. We love the school district and youth sports. We love the festivals and markets. We love that when Maplewood is at its best it is a diverse, inclusive community that aspires to know itself better and make improvements accordingly. Most of all, we love the people.
